So.. What is a Paintball? Explain?

Simple.. A paintball depending on manufacturer is a 6g Gelatin (Gelsel) shell filled with a coloured vegetable oil.

Why? Due to the amount of paintball fired these balls need to be able to bio degrade and return back to the environment without harming the land. Also sometimes if you get hit square on on the protective mouth piece the vegetable oil fill may sometimes penetrate the breathing holes and give your mouth a quick shower of not so nice tasting paint.

Manufacturer's Guidance.
The sport of paintball and discharge of paintballs may be dangerous! Keep away from children under the age of 12years. Paintballs are intended to be used in conjunction with ASTM certified goggle system and safety gear. Failure to use all proper protective equipment, specifically including, but not limited to protective gear for eyes, face and head, or follow the storage recommendations can result in serious permanent bodily injuries or death, including but not limited to loss of eyesight and/or hearing and/or damage to heart and/or throat. Never aim at the head of an unprotected person. Do not shoot at animals. Do not ingest paintballs.
